Election Day was an excellent turnout for the town of Falmouth, with nearly 33 percent of the voters coming to the polls.

Congratulations to all the winners. Interestingly enough, a shift of only 50 votes from Ms. Rodden to Ms. DiBiase would have put Barbara DiBiase on the Town Council.

The coming year will be full of important votes that will affect Falmouth for years to come. Let’s see if we can show some restraint in spending and committing the town to long-term financial commitments that can only force higher taxes on all of us.

Please let the councilors know early and often what you expect them to do with your share of $35 million. If you don’t they will listen to those who do contact them. Instead of turning off street lights to save $20,000 we, all the taxpayers in town, working together might come up with ideas that will save enough money somewhere else to keep on all the lights that residents asked to retain at the recent hearing.
