I am a Portland resident urging Falmouth voters to defeat local Question 1, to save the Falmouth Flyer bus.
I am a nurse practitioner working in Falmouth, having recently moved to Portland. Believing the bus to be a consistent and logical transportation option, I sold my car to commit to leaving a smaller carbon footprint. The bus was my means of making this major life change possible. Most mornings I put my bike on the bus, opting to pedal home at the end of the day. With winter coming, I anticipate increasing my round-trip ridership of the bus.
I thought riding the bus would be complicated and a hassle; it is instead incredibly easy, makes me feel good, and benefits the community on both sides of Martin’s Point bridge. Please, vote no on Falmouth’s Question 1.
