We should be proud of state Rep. Joyce “Jay” McCreight. She is one of several legislators honored for perfect attendance in the recent legislative session. Jay was there for all 679 votes.

Jay’s enthusiasm in representing our district goes beyond her attendance record. Her work as a member of the Marine Resources Committee helps our fishing industry, and benefits the quality of the water resources in Casco Bay that we all enjoy. Jay worked hard in addressing the sustainability of our fisheries, the effects of ocean acidification and sea level rise. The success of our fisheries is dependent on maintaining the health of the ocean.

As a resident of House District 51, I, too, enjoy the treasures of our town: the sea, the forests, and the clean, clear air. Let’s keep Jay in the Statehouse, and vote for her in the Democratic primary on June 14.
