As Cumberland residents with children currently in the School Administrative District 51 school system, we are writing to support Bethany Hanley’s election to the School Board. Bethany is a passionate and committed community member with leadership experience in many different roles impacting youth and education. As president of the PTO and the Cumberland Co-operative Nursery School, Bethany tirelessly led by example, both in developing consensus and then executing on it. In her current role as PTO communications chairwoman, she has worked to distill and communicate complicated issues to the community through multiple channels. Having worked in college settings, Bethany understands what is expected of students who pursue post-secondary education. She is exhaustive in her research, inclusive in her approach and is a good listener who considers all sides of issues. For these reasons and others, please join us in voting for Bethany Hanley for School Board on June 11.
