There are many things I admire about the Green Independent Party platform, especially regarding the environment, but I will not be voting for their candidate in the House District 33 race. I will instead be voting for Democrat Rosemarie De Angelis.
Rosemarie has a long history of supporting the environment. I would encourage Green voters to take a look at her record as a member of the South Portland City Council. I think they’ll be quite pleased. I would also encourage Greens to reach out to Rosemarie and chat with her, which I believe is the best way to get to know a candidate.
We need someone who will tackle the tough issues and get things done. Even more importantly, we need someone who will actually show up. Rosemarie is that person, and that’s why I’ll be voting for her.
