Congratulations to the Greely High School Class of 2009. As one of the chaperons of Project Graduation, I saw first-hand what wonderful young adults they are. They are respectful, caring, helpful, intelligent individuals. I heard from three different people at the Hallowell bowling/hockey facility what a great group of kids they were that evening. Their parents should feel very proud that they have raised such wonderful people and reassured as they send them off into the world.

If the parents could have seen them in the bouncy house (way too many of them at once, laughing so hard they couldn’t get up off each other to get out), laughing their heads off at each other with the sumo wrestling suits on, the sweat pouring off their heads as they raced around the hockey rink, the amazement on their faces at seeing some of their friends hypnotized and watching fuzzy balls appear in their hands that weren’t there before, they would have been as thrilled as I was at the success of the evening. I think they will all have great memories of their last night together as a class. I’m not a parent of any one of them, but I am very proud to say that I know them. Good luck to you all, and a big thank-you for helping our Maine economy by keeping Project Graduation right here at home.
