I thank the people of North Yarmouth, Gray and Pownal for allowing me to serve you for the past four years in the Maine House. Know that I worked for you every day regardless of your party affiliation. I worked to earn your trust.

For the people of House District 46, I am deeply saddened that the new constituents didn’t have an opportunity to know who I really am. Mailers and ads lied about my record. For example, I was totally opposed to Question 1. I trust our Maine wildlife biologists to know what is right for Maine. I strongly support hunting, and would not suggest any restrictions other than those that would safeguard people. I agree that we need to reform our welfare system and be smarter and more efficient with your taxes. I stated consistently that we need to find property tax relief. Those of you who met me heard me clearly, and some voted for me because I listened and would work on your concerns.

Congratulations to Paul Chace. I wish him luck and hope he will reach across the aisle to get things done. As the co-chairwoman of the Moderate Common Ground Caucus, I worked with colleagues who believed we could get along and get work done for all Mainers. It is my hope that Chace will do the same.

Thank you for the last four years. I am honored and humbled. I hope to continue to serve my community as best as I can moving forward.

Rep. Anne Graham
North Yarmouth
