Join me in sending Democratic state Sen. Stan Gerzofsky back to Augusta from Senate District 24.
Stan has worked on some big-ticket items in Brunswick, like securing bonds to redevelop the air station, or bringing in Southern Maine Community College when the Navy left. Because of my work in town government, I’ve seen his dedication to these projects up close.
Less well known is the hard work Stan has done for his smaller communities. In 2009, Pownal faced a school budget crisis because of an unexpected jump in real estate valuation. But a bill sponsored by Gerzofsky passed, allowing a one-time change to Pownal’s valuation, saving taxpayers up to an additional $80,000. Because of the legislation, Pownal residents could see their school tax levy drop $654 per $100,000 of assessed value. North Yarmouth can expect the same zeal from Stan.
No one works harder to listen to, or solve problems of, the little guy than Stan Gerzofsky.
