On behalf of the Friends of the Scarborough Library, we would like to thank the many members of the Scarborough community who helped make our annual book sale a wonderful success. We appreciate the generosity of those who donate books to the sale as well as those who purchase.

Proceeds from the book sale enable us to fund the purchase of books for the library’s adult and children’s collections. We also hold programs that are free and open to the public. This spring, dozens of children enjoyed the Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers’ production of “The Headless Horseman.” Contributions from the Friends have also helped to pay for the beautiful plantings that now enhance the library’s front entrance. Book sale revenues also support the library’s popular summer reading program.

The Friends also appreciate the generous help of our corporate sponsors.  Scarborough Public Works is to be commended, too, as they provide storage space for books throughout the year and transport books to the library just before the sale. SPW’s efforts are crucial to our success and we thank everyone there for their help.

Thank you to all for supporting the library book sale. The Friends wish you happy reading and we hope to see you at next year’s sale.
