Democratic state Rep. Sara Gideon has proved throughout her tenures on both the Freeport Town Council and in the House that she is a strong supporter of education. As a teacher in Freeport schools, I see her consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to improving schools for all students. She understands how a strong education system benefits the overall community. She demonstrates her commitment to this issue in many ways. Sara does more than just consider the policy issues in a committee room at the state House; she talks to teachers in her community to find out what the real-life implications are when policies are made in Augusta. She visits and helps in classrooms to really understand the challenges and successes. Sara’s understanding of education and her advocacy in Augusta will only improve the quality of education for all students.
