As a resident of Maine Senate District 11, I am very pleased that Sen. Jerry Davis has again decided to offer his service to the citizens of the district. In his first term of office, Jerry demonstrated both fiscal prudence and political courage by resisting pressure and voted against a bloated budget that resulted in a deficit of nearly $250 million dollars in the next biennium. Jerry Davis is a person of character and conscience who takes his legislative responsibilities very seriously. He takes the time to study issues carefully, listen to the diverse opinions of the citizens and make thoughtful decisions in the best interests of all. Jerry Davis is a public servant in the true sense of the term. He does not seek personal aggrandizement or higher political office but, strives only to his best to determine what is in the interests of his constituents. His constituent service is outstanding and his dedication to the demands of public office is remarkable. During my 10 years in the Maine House, I had the opportunity to observe a great many members of that body and, I can truthfully state that nobody works harder than Jerry Davis to do what is best for Maine. I sincerely hope that you will join me in re-electing Jerry Davis to the Senate in November.
