Marian McCue’s April 30 article on Rosa Scarcelli and her bid for governor sounded more like a Hedda Hopper column than an unbiased report. The two times I have heard Rosa speak locally she has mentioned how fortunate she was to be able to enter a family business, unlike so many newly graduated Mainers. Isn’t it admirable that a young woman from a privileged background decides she’d like to try to help our state recover from our economic woes and provide jobs? She could have chosen to sit back and do nothing.

Pam Gleichman, Rosa’s mother, as Ms. McCue said, “a successful and controversial” woman developer, is not running for governor. Rosa Scarcelli is . I, for one am glad to see her doing it.
