Through all recreation programs with which we have been involved in Cumberland, Bill Landis has encouraged, coached, taught and disciplined our young kids to be active, to be competitive yet fair, to be respectful athletes, and to have fun. Embedded within his programs has been a level enjoyment which is evidenced by the hoards of participants. Bill has been an integral part in establishing a healthy lifestyle for our families by offering fun venues for developing enduring athletic habits. We are fully confident that many years from now when our kids are introducing their kids to sports, we will hear fond memories of Coach Bill.

He has been an asset not only for the communities of Cumberland and North Yarmouth, but for all communities that compete with our teams at our facilities. He leaves behind a legacy that will no doubt be a challenge to uphold. He has set the bar of commitment and excellence so high; but what will be missed the most is his affable demeanor, always ready with a smile and a jovial comment for each youngster.

With his pending departure we are left with sadness, but more significantly with gratitude for his passion and commitment to our kids, as well as excitement for what “Chapter Two” holds. Please know you have made a very positive difference in the lives our families. We wish you and Christine all the best wherever you land.
