I support Karen Farber for Falmouth Town Council. Karen would be a terrific councilor. I served with Karen on the town’s land use planning committee. Later, when I served on the council, I worked with Karen on the school budget, as she was on the School Board. She impressed me as a public official who is knowledgeable, studious and fair. On land use issues, Karen advocated for striking a balance between managing our growth and protecting property rights. Similarly, as a school board member, Karen was an advocate for our excellent school system, but she was mindful of keeping taxes low. Karen’s experience on these boards will be boon the town and the council, as the issues facing the Town Council are also often complex and require balancing competing interests. In sum, Karen’s background qualifies her most highly for a seat on the Falmouth Town Council.
