We’d like to express our appreciation for and recognize the efforts of the many volunteers who made the Falmouth Fall Classic soccer tournament such a success once again. The community spirit evident at Community Park and the school fields as well as the smiles on the faces of the parents and the athletes were inspiring and a testament to why this event is so looked forward to each year. None of this would be possible without the efforts of the many volunteers who organize behind the scenes, marshal the multiple games, sell food and souvenirs, direct vehicles to parking, pick up trash, and all of the other tasks required to put on the tournament.

We would also like to especially thank David Friedman and David Hembre, who coach one of Falmouth’s U10 boys teams. Not only have they volunteered their time, they have taught our boys athletic skills, how to play as a team, and an enjoyment and better understanding of the game. More importantly, they have taught through their own example good sportsmanship and how to appropriately handle difficult situations that arise, as was the case on Sunday when the opposing coach behaved very inappropriately.

David and David, we appreciate the time that you have spent and the mentoring you have provided our boys. All of Falmouth can be proud of how you represent our town.
