I am writing to express my wholehearted support for Rep. Mary Nelson in House District 112. Mary served on the House Education Committee when I was chairwoman of the Falmouth School Board, and I was personally able to witness her well-reasoned approach to issues that were coming before her committee. Having served on both the Falmouth School Board and the Falmouth Town Council in the past, Mary understood completely the impact the legislation would have on the people of Falmouth. On controversial issues, Mary did not take the easy way out, but would question and probe all sides of an issue in an attempt to find a fair solution that worked best both for our town and for the people of Maine. Mary brings intelligence, dedication and a balanced approach to the enormous issues facing our state. I’m thankful to have someone of her caliber who is willing to serve.
