Rep. Mary Nelson has impressed me during her first term representing Falmouth in the state House and deserves to be elected again.
She has been accessible to the public and to the Town Council to relay information and concerns back and forth so Falmouth’s voice can be heard in the Legislature.
Our community can thank her also for being the primary sponsor of LD 452, a bill that changed state law last year so Falmouth could join the Greater Portland Transit District. Without the bill’s passage, Falmouth would not have a regional bus service.
With Rep. Nelson’s help, Metro bus service has improved and ridership on Route 7 has grown steadily every year. Just this week, there has been a change in the bus schedule to provide more service to Falmouth Village, Portland and beyond for bus riders in the Town Landing neighborhood.
During these difficult economic times, businesses along Route 1 and the state of Maine, which relies on sales tax for revenue, can thank Rep. Nelson for the employees and customers the bus transports to Falmouth.
Please join me in re-electing incumbent Rep. Mary Nelson on Nov. 2.
