One of the reasons I chose Falmouth was because of the METRO bus service into Portland and the convenience of taking the Flyer to Shaw’s, the library, Walmart or any of the other places along the route. I do still drive, but anticipated the day when I might not be able to when choosing to buy a condo in Applegate. As an over-55 community, many residents are aging and having to face the prospect of giving up driving. It would be a shame if, when they do, they have no other means of getting around. I’ve heard that the town is considering terminating bus service and would strongly recommend that, for the sake of all of us, they don’t.
