I am writing this letter to you to express my concern about your quest for information about the “mock wedding” at Plummer Motz School and the implicit allegations of “cover up.” As a parent of two children in Falmouth (and one recently in Mr. Rosenblum’s classroom), I rely on The Forecaster for news of my community. This situation was not news and not newsworthy.

What a shame to jeopardize the confidence of a truly inspirational and talented teacher. Parents of Mr. R’s class didn’t complain. When I heard of the situation I thought it was kind of dumb, but nothing I would consider complaining about. I would question the parent who is the “anonymous” source’s motives for seeking to sensationalize the situation. How mean-spirited.

As a parent of a child in Mr. R’s class for both this and next year, I witnessed my son going to school each day with enthusiasm, initiating homework without prompting, seeing the world open up around him, and my daughter saying “I hope I get Mr. R next year.”

This was not news. Falmouth is better for having Mr. R as a teacher.
