Last month, our 4-year-old daughter went to the library to get her first library card. She turns 5 later this month and is taking an active interest in learning to read. The Falmouth Memorial Library has become our go-to destination for picking out age-appropriate books for her.
We are excited and hopeful for Zayena and her older sister, Zahira, to take advantage of all that the library will be able to offer them and their classmates for years to come once the expansion project is completed. The new building design promises to meet the evolving needs of our community, much in the way the new Falmouth Elementary School has in recent years. We are desperately in need of an updated community space for our town’s growing number of young families. Vote yes on the referendum question for the library expansion project.
