One year ago this month the Falmouth Food Pantry opened in our new location at the Falmouth Town Hall. Since last July the number of families served has tripled and the number of individuals being helped has more than tripled because we are helping many more families with children. It is only through the generosity of the community that the Food Pantry has been able to be a lifeline for so many.

This June Eagle Scout candidate Ben Snowden (with the help of his family, other scout families, and the Falmouth Lions) repaired walls, painted, and built and installed incredible custom made sturdy shelves. This work has added a cheerful and a practical quality to our space. In addition, because the shelves allow Food Pantry volunteers to store items more efficiently, there is now space for a refrigerator.

The Falmouth Rotary has paid for a new, energy efficient refrigerator that will allow the Food Pantry to accept and distribute fresh produce and other perishable items. There have been many lost opportunities to obtain such items, but we did not have the needed refrigeration. Now we do.

The support of Town Manager Nathan Poore, lawyer Philip Hunt, over 30 individual Food Pantry volunteers, the Falmouth Lions, the Falmouth Rotary, every church in our community, and the generosity of countless individuals has made it possible for the Falmouth Food Pantry to offer valuable help to those in need.
