The Falmouth Flyer is the most economical way to reach Portland, with fares starting at $1.50 each way for adults, seniors 75 cents and students $1.25 with ID.

Exact change (bills or coins) are required. Passes are available from the bus driver to eight other buses that cover the greater Portland area. Parking is expensive for cars in Portland, and accidents are common. It is 79 percent safer to take a bus than to drive your own vehicle.

A bus produces 95 percent less carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide per passenger mile than the same trip by private vehicle, and 40 percent of the U.S. dependency on foreign oil would cease if 10 percent of Americans took the bus.
