For some of us the Falmouth Flyer bus is a necessity, an essential part of our way of life. We are a household of “independent living” residents of the Ocean View Retirement Community. We ride the Flyer about four times a week to Shaw’s and the other stores on both sides of Route 1. In fact, the Flyer was a major reason for our choosing Ocean View. The trips on the bus are for items we need for daily living.

True, we also appreciate the access to Portland and visits to the library, the art museum, restaurants and shops. As newcomers we use the bus, with transfers, to find our way around a lively city.

But our main feeling about the Flyer is gratitude for friendly, flexible transportation for basic needs. Our thanks for a vital connection.
