I’m writing on behalf of myself and my family to express our deep appreciation to the volunteers of the Falmouth Fire Department along with firefighters and emergency personnel from Westbrook for racing to our house on Brookside Drive in Falmouth on Sunday, May 24. We had a pretty bad fire, as has been reported, but it could have been much worse. Our neighborhood is called Brookside Forest, and if these departments hadn’t worked so quickly and effectively to extinguish it, who knows what could have happened.
Thanks again to these amazing people who dropped everything on a hot and sunny Sunday to literally run to the rescue. And the boys on my street, who stood and watched with jaws open, thank you, too. Inspired, perhaps, to be our next generation of volunteers.
