After months of extensive exploration and debate, the Falmouth Town Council has agreed to pursue a plan that would let residents vote on the fate of the Lunt and Plummer-Motz school buildings. A single question will allow the community to unite around this issue.

I am impressed that the council so diligently considered the input of many, many residents and numerous consultants. The proposed referendum question will truly represent a compromise. The council has worked hard to identify a cost-effective way to address Falmouth’s facilities needs. We can create a community center, expand our library, and preserve a heavily used park without borrowing money or raising taxes.
