A friend and I attended the open house at the Mason-Motz Building sponsored by Falmouth Community Programs. Congratulations to this staff of friendly and welcoming people.

Back in the fall of 1949, when the Motz School opened, I was in the sixth grade. My class had transitioned from the Pine Grove School to merge with the West Falmouth kids from the Huston School and the Graves School. We were now a single sixth-grade class. Who would have thought that some 66 years later I would return to stand in what is now the new Falmouth Community Center. How times have changed – but changed for the better.

The exhibitions of Tai Chi, pickle ball and Jane Volin’s painting class were very worthwhile to visit. And then there was Laughter Yoga, which was such fun. I also could sit down and explore the new summer catalog that described some great adventures being offered to residents for a reasonable fee. I signed up to go on three adventures. I say kudos to Lucky Ascanio, Denise Macaronas and staff. It was a fun afternoon.
