I am writing in support of the proposed Falmouth School Budget. Having worked in other school districts in Maine and Massachusetts, I have seen the negative impact that can occur from too many budget cuts in education; class sizes increase, standardized test scores decrease and more children “fall through the cracks.” The school administration and the School Board have worked diligently to try to minimize costs as much as possible while still maintaining a quality education for our students. Graduates of the Falmouth Schools are going on to top academic institutions and thriving because of the well-rounded, high-performing schools they have attended. Furthermore, strong schools support a strong community. Families move to Falmouth because of its great schools and stay because of its wonderful community. Please join me in voting yes to adopt the school budget.
