Many older people who no longer choose to drive their own cars are pleased to use the No. 7 METRO bus that we are so lucky to have in Falmouth. Shaw’s supermarket has made it possible for its customers to buy tickets, to save on fares, and to have a stop right out in front for all to use. However, although riders had been asking Shaw’s for a long time to install a bench on which to wait for the bus, their requests had been sadly without results. We were forced to perch on bags of charcoal or piles of firewood, and especially for elderly customers this was quite uncomfortable. But now at last, thanks to Tom Churchill and several others, a nice bench is finally in place. I want to thank all those who have made this possible. I can guarantee that it will get lots of grateful use.
