I’d like to add my voice to those already urging a no vote on Falmouth Question 1. Let’s keep the bus.

Ridership has been growing every year. Some residents need the bus to do their shopping. Many people, residents or not, depend on the bus to get to their jobs. Falmouth businesses benefit when shoppers and employees can get to their places of business. The bus provides a needed service.

Yes, I have seen an empty bus from time to time. But so what? I have seen empty streets from time to time, but that doesn’t mean we should stop maintaining the streets. I have seen empty spaces in parking lots from time, but that doesn’t mean those spaces should be eliminated.

Better an empty bus once in a while than a resident who can’t get out to the store or an appointment, or a person who can’t get to a job.
