I read with interest the profiles of the candidates running for House District 47. I was struck by the details regarding Democratic Rep. Janice Cooper’s work history and the lack of detail regarding Republican Rick Snow. I met Rick approximately 15 years ago at the Brunswick Naval Air Station while he was working as a Naval Reserve Officer, commanding the weekend trainings and my son was participating in a Navy youth program. As I got to know Rick, I learned he was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and he encouraged my son to seek this path. After 25 years of service in the Navy Reserve, Rick retired as a commander, while also working his civilian job. I bring this to the attention of the District 47 voters, because Rick has had some of the best leadership training and experience available. This is exactly what is needed in Augusta.
