Maura Pillsbury served on Freeport’s Conservation Commission for five years, and I feel fortunate to have worked with her on the commission for the last two. During our time together, Maura demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for her community and its residents. As commission chairwoman, she spearheaded efforts to improve the town’s existing conservation properties, including Hedgehog Mountain, and I know she’ll be equally effective as a Regional School Unit 5 board member.

Professionally, Pillsbury has over a decade of experience working to improve the effectiveness of government programs. She also has a personal stake in realizing a successful and efficient RSU 5: she and her husband have two young sons who will grow up in RSU 5 schools.

I believe Pillsbury’s presence on the RSU 5 board will benefit our community, and I strongly urge everyone to vote for her on Nov. 6.
