The 125th Maine Legislature has been sworn in, with new leaders elected by the new majority party. It’s a different landscape in state government, and I look forward to hitting the ground running in what is simultaneously familiar and unknown territory. Since this is my fourth and last term, due to term limits, I feel confident in the skills, knowledge and experience I have garnered during the last six years. With a new administration and majority, the unknowns of policy and priorities are waiting to be revealed.

I thank the citizens of District 123, my friends and neighbors in Cape Elizabeth and South Portland, who entrusted in me the awesome responsibility of representing their interests in Augusta. I will work as I always have, with all my colleagues in the Legislature, to assure that the interests of our community and the state will be protected and advanced. The challenges in front of us remain significant and I am hopeful that we will find the solutions needed for the health of our people, businesses, and environment – which all depend on each other for our prosperity.

Please stay in touch with me as we embark on the new session. I want your ideas, suggestions, inspirations and advice. Contact me anytime with any issue, at 776-3783 or Eberleja@earthlink.net.
