I’m a retired physician in Brunswick, and was involved in trying to get the Waterfront Protection Ordinance passed in South Portland, so I’m somewhat disappointed in the outcome in one way. However, I think the public support of the ordinance was highly significant. No big money there, but a lot of dedication and hard work. My concern is certainly for South Portland, but also for all the rest of us, who to various degrees will be affected by what happens there. Thanks to Mayor Tom Blake the issue is not settled, and I have faith tar sands will be kept out.
