When meeting Eliot Cutler, one is quickly impressed with his enthusiasm, intellect, integrity and no-nonsense approach to getting things done. His plans are based on lowering the costs of energy, health care and government, while investing in our competitive advantages: our forests, farms, fisheries, renewable energy resources, places and people. Through the creation of an Office of Regulatory Review and Repeal, his administration will repeal regulations that stand in the way of job growth and look at every proposed law to determine its impact on the state’s economy before it goes into effect.

His health-care plans include focus on wellness and rewarding healthy behaviors. He will replace dependence on excessively expensive health insurance with a new approach providing access to essential health care for every Mainer at a lower, more sustainable cost.

His expertise in energy policy is unmatched in this election and his plans include reducing the costs of electricity through the creation of a small public finance authority that will rely on low-interest, tax-exempt financing and public-private partnerships to help build energy infrastructure and efficiency, encourage development in renewable energy resources, and sell lower-priced electricity directly to Maine businesses.

As an independent Governor, Eliot has the capacity to do the right things for the state of Maine – growing jobs, protecting the environment, reducing taxes – in a non-partisan way. These plans and his creative, business-like approach make him the best candidate to become the next governor of Maine.
