I want to thank the voters of House District 45 for taking me just 17 votes from victory (out of almost 5,000 cast) against overwhelming political headwinds.
Thank you, Cumberland voters, for giving me a win in my hometown. Unfortunately, the margin wasn’t enough to overcome my shortfall in Gray.
It has been a real pleasure meeting so many wonderful people, and it has been a surprise and a delight that so many of you stood beside me as partners in this campaign.
We gave it our best, and I am proud of everything we did.
I wish Mike Timmons the best, and I hope that he will prove to be as independent and bipartisan as he has promised to the voters. Maine faces enormous challenges, and this Legislature will need to seek long-term solutions to our problems. May they rise to the occasion.
As I have said during the campaign, I am lucky to live in this most wonderful of communities in this most beautiful of states. It has been an honor to be a candidate to represent you.
