On behalf of the Cumberland Farmers Market Association, please consider this a giant thank you to Allen, Sterling & Lothrop Garden Center. This is the third winter their generosity has provided our farmers market a winter home in the greenhouse on Route 1 in Falmouth. Through the long dark days of winter we continue to bring you seasonal and greenhouse-grown vegetables and greens; fresh eggs from free-ranging chickens; meats and poultry; milk; butter; hand-crafted cheeses; maple syrup; baked goodies and breads, and so much more.

I also want The Forecaster community to know how much we appreciate your continued commitment to buying local. You really are making a difference – farmers with direct access to their customers run far more sustainable operations, and a greater percentage of what you pay goes right back into the community through our own local purchases, sales and income taxes, vets, feed stores, and so on. A win-win all around.

We are open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, in the AS&L greenhouse, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through February. If the traffic continues to remain strong, we will stay open through March. Let us know what you want by “voting with your feet.” We look forward to seeing you and your friends and neighbors very soon.
