I am writing to introduce myself as the Democratic candidate for state representative in District 45 (Cumberland and part of Gray).

Due to Rep. Steve Moriarty’s decision not to seek re-election, and with his support and encouragement, I have decided to run. I believe I have the skills and experience to make an impact in Augusta. I have an extensive business background, including 16 years as a vice president at UNUM and later as contract director at Dielectric. I have a broad knowledge of educational issues, having served on the School Administrative District 51 board for six years, including a year as chairman.

I understand state government, having been an assistant attorney general, and most recently, director of the largest office within the Department of Health and Human Services. In that latter role, I worked effectively with both Republicans and Democrats in the Legislature.

I look forward to introducing myself to the voters in the coming months.

Dale Denno
