I have known Janice Cooper since I was a child, as my Yarmouth neighbor, the mother of her daughter Becky, and the mother to all the children in the neighborhood. Janice was always there for us, feeding us, throwing parties, arranging swimming lessons, and making her home a welcome place for all of us. Janice never once seemed overwhelmed or that there was just too much on her plate, she took each of us in for dinner with a laugh and smile, while working for U.S. Rep. Tom Allen in Portland. The energy and empathy she demonstrated, and the incredible strength she showed after Becky’s tragic death, are qualities that will serve Yarmouth well in the Legislature. She passed her humanitarian values on to Becky and the rest of the girls in the ‘hood. She is the best I know person to represent District 66.
