Before they go to the polls to determine the fate of the now-closed elementary school, North Yarmouth voters should think about keeping the present town office, rebuilding Wescustogo Hall, and selling the school building.

Town officials propose selling the town office land and building. To encourage development of the land they would build a “sewer system,” which I have been told would be nothing more than septic tanks and leach fields, that could contaminate the aquifer that lies beneath the area.

Rebuilding Wescustogo Hall would meet the town’s obligation, serve as a polling place, and create a place for group meetings.
