U.S. Sen. Susan Collins’ penchant for pretending like she will do the right thing and then voting the party line (or voting against the party only when she knows it will be ineffective) reminds me of Lucy promising to hold that football for a trusting Charlie Brown only to trip him up over and over again. This time it will be different, he always thought, and he was always wrong.
