As a mother of children entering Pond Cove Elementary School kindergarten next year, I am deeply concerned about maintaining the quality of education that Cape Elizabeth is famous for. That quality is an essential part of what makes Cape such a wonderful place to raise a family. We want the best for our children, and we depend on Cape schools to provide that.

I am proud to share why I am supporting John Christie for School Board. Our schools are facing brutal financial constraints, and John has the experience to navigate us through these tough times. He is the CFO of his own company, and has managed difficult budget issues for years. He is both a whiz with numbers, and a thoughtful decision maker. John is a man with a well-earned reputation for his ability to achieve results, while staying sensitive to the concerns of others. I know him to be an attentive listener who is quick to get things done in a reasonable and timely manner. I am confident that this valuable combination of qualities will serve us well on the School Board. We need strong leaders who can build consensus and bring people together.

I believe John Christie to be exactly the person we need on our school board to ensure that Cape schools continue to provide an education for our children that is deserving of our reputation for excellence. Please join me in voting for John Christie on Nov. 3.
