We have an opportunity to elect an extraordinary woman in Senate District 25 on Nov. 6; Republican Cathy Nichols is that woman. She has a bachelor’s degree in soil science and a Certificate of Policy Analysis from USM’s Muskie School. Her work experience included navigating environmental and water-quality issues for large corporations. This combination of education and work experience will be useful in Augusta. She believes we need to improve our economy with sound policies. She has the ability to achieve that goal.

Cathy is a member of Falmouth’s Recycling Committee. According to ecomaine’s latest report, Falmouth had the best recycling rate in our area. Perhaps that is not a coincidence.

There are thousands of legislative bills proposed each session. We need Cathy Nichols’ talent for seeking good solutions and striking a balance between all of the competing needs in Augusta.
