What is Falmouth lacking? As a resident and father of three young children, my answer is “not much.” The schools are excellent, our neighborhoods are fantastic places to live, we have access to lakes, the ocean, the Audubon Center, a great town library – I could go on for a while. The answer hits me whenever I run errands on Route 1. Every stop entails hopping into and out of my car. Any thoughts of walking to my next destination are extinguished by the lack of sidewalks, lights, landscaping, etc. The Route 1 business district is presently for cars, not for people. I’d like that to begin to change over the coming years, and will be voting “yes” on Question 1 on June 11.
