I want to thank the Falmouth Town Council for their decision to continue the Metro bus service. I have been using the bus for commuting purposes for two years and find it prompt, dependable, convenient and affordable. The council’s decision comes at a time when there are challenges ahead facing public transport services for the citizens of Falmouth:

1 – If the State takes the Martin Point Bridge completely out of service for rebuilding purposes, that move could endanger the No. 7 bus service. I would hope that an alternative to this rebuilding plan could be negotiated.

2 – The citizens of Falmouth should give serious consideration to using public transportation. Please consider using the service. The Friday morning ride from Town Landing Market is a good start.

3 – Those on the council who oppose the service should consider ways to help make the service more successful for the Falmouth-based ridership instead of seeking its termination.

To those who have considered using the bus you can start by “going to the stop.” See you on the 7.
