I am writing to thank the local businesses who gave their support to Care Net of Mid-Coast Maine’s annual fundraising banquet on Nov. 20. Located in Brunswick, Care Net serves ten area towns including Bath, Bowdoin, Freeport, Lisbon, Richmond, and Topsham.

Care Net is a pregnancy care center dedicated to emotionally and practically supporting women. They offer free pregnancy tests, ongoing personal contact, post-abortion support, abstinence education, referrals for community resources, parenting classes, and a baby boutique shop.

Care Net of Mid-Coast Maine, like the other 2,500 pregnancy care centers throughout our country, receives no government funding. All their services are free. Their support comes through private donations and much volunteer effort. Care Net is a positive resource for love, support, encouragement and practical aid for a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy. She is not alone.

Thanks, again, to all the area businesses who are helping us help others.
