School Administrative District 51 is a high-performing school district, in large part due to the engagement and involvement of its community. Karen Campbell is one of those engaged and involved community members. When first elected to the board in 2009, Karen hit the ground running. She immediately turned her attention to structuring an effective communication plan to keep the community informed, helped the Board address the District’s long term sustainability – one of the most difficult and complex issues facing our schools – and was elected this year by her fellow board members as vice chairwoman. Having served on the School Board, I believe re-electing Karen would provide the continuity important and necessary to the effective leadership of our schools. But more than that, re-electing Karen would keep someone in that position with the demonstrated experience and dedication to SAD51 and the community it serves.
