We the people should be enraged that a handful of donors to Jeb Bush’s campaign raised $114 million in the blink of an eye and were challenged to raise more. That money is for one purpose only: to buy influence denied to the rest of us. Bush shouldn’t gloat that he set a new record in fundraising; he should hang his head in shame. Bernie Sanders is right. We are not a democracy anymore. We are a plutocracy. Our government is controlled by a small group of extremely wealthy people.
