On Thursday evening, the Brunswick Fire Department demonstrated their impressive capabilities as our neighbors’ house on Mere Point suffered a catastrophic loss. The department responded to a reported “garage fire” and upon their arrival at the scene, the fire had spread to the house, as well as our garage next door. Chief Ken Brilliant confidently managed the scene, which included more than 80 personnel from at least nine fire departments.  As a result, the fire was contained to the two structures and did not spread to the nearby woods and houses. Without their expertise and quick action, the results would have been much different. We are fortunate to have such a competent fire department in our hometown.
