On a recent Friday night in Brunswick, crowds gathered at Curtis Memorial Library and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church to appreciate the work of Maine artists and to support an important cause: art for kids.

The seventh annual 10×10 Benefit Art Exhibit & Sale was the most successful to date. We sold 100 original works of art and raised $17,000 for the nonprofit Arts Are Elementary program.

On behalf of the 10×10 Committee, Arts Are Elementary and the 1,187 students who will enjoy art residencies in their classrooms this year, we would like to thank the Mid-Coast community for supporting this year’s event.

Thank you to the 177 participating artists who created amazing works of art, in a huge array of mediums, all in 10-inch-by-10-inch format. A special thanks to Dr. Will Wilkoff, whose donated painting “Pemaquid Bell House” raised $2,500.

Thank you to our amazing group of volunteers who numbered well over 100. They included Bowdoin College student athletes, Brunswick High School students, parents, artists and other community members.

This year’s 10×10 was also made possible by our generous sponsors. Please go to our website and see the impressive list of patrons and in-kind donors.

Our community came out in large numbers that night, whether to purchase art or to have a glass of wine and support the cause. It was a great night for the arts in Maine. Thank you all for being a part of it.
