On Nov. 4 we have an important decision to make: who will succeed Sen. Dick Woodbury as our state senator in Senate District 25. The election will not only determine whether our elected representative in Augusta truly reflect the values of our community; it may also determine which party controls the Senate.
I am pleased that Democrat Cathy Breen is running. Her strong record of leadership on the Falmouth Town Council and Woodbury’s endorsement are solid indicators that she will make a great senator.
In addition, I was happy to learn that Breen supports background checks on all gun sales. Last year, background check legislation passed the Senate by just one vote, only to fall victim to Gov. LePage’s veto. Hopefully with Breen in Augusta universal background checks will finally be enacted into law.
I urge you to join me in voting for Cathy Breen.
